Hi, I’m Kevin Bettinger, senior pastor here at IBC Keeseville. I come from the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. I made Keeseville my home in September of 2024. My wife, Joan, and I are thankful to be at IBC and to have the opportunity to serve in ministry here in the north country. I have two grown sons, Kevin Jr. and Reuben.
I trusted Christ as my Savior when I was 19 years old, and I have endeavored to serve Him ever since that day. I’ve been in full time ministry since 2015, serving as senior pastor at two previous churches, one in Idaho and, most recently, in North Carolina. Before that, I served part-time as the minister of music to several churches in the metro Detroit area. I also recently taught English at public schools in Vietnam for a short term.
Before my call to full time ministry, I spent 15 years working in Executive Protection for Chrysler Corporation, as well as 8 years in website technology sales, and I have run my own business as a contractor and handyman. I hold a Masters of Business Administration degree from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana Baptist University and Seminary. And, I am an ordained Baptist minister of the Gospel.
At this point in my ministry, my top priorities are to love God, love people, and preach solid, edifying messages. I want to connect with my surrounding community in meaningful ways and be a resource and an influence to impact the many spiritual needs in our area.
Here are some comments from my friends and colleagues:
“He has a pastor’s heart for people.”
“Preparation, delivery and ability to communicate a sermon.”
“Team player.”
“Mature.”
“Discipling people is definitely a strength.”
When I’m not working, I enjoy music, hiking, birding, reading, and most importantly, spending time with my wife, Joan, and our two black Labrador Retrievers.
I want to personally invite you to come visit us at IBC and experience a caring Christian community, lively musical worship, and compassionate, Biblical preaching and teaching.
Grace & Peace,
Kevin Bettinger
